At the Democratic National Convention in Denver, MANIFEST HOPE displayed 150 works of art portraying HOPE, UNITY, PROGRESS, CHANGE and PATRIOTISM. In contrast to the many invitation-only activities at the convention, this celebration of the grass roots spirit of the Obama Campaign and the role that art played was open to the public, and over the course of five days, the gallery was visited by 15,000 patrons. MANIFEST HOPE's closing night festivities included a free public outdoor concert, hosted by Mayor Gavin Newsom and Sarah Silverman.
Joining them were national touring acts: Silversun Pickups, Nada Surf, Cold War Kids, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and DJ Z-Trip. A super-group performance by Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie), Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley), Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), Johnathan Rice and Zooey Deschanel (She & Him) rounded out the night.
